Walk for cancer remembers Dad

By VICTORIA STONE-MEADOWS

DISABILITY worker Kerrin Bass will be walking 50km this weekend to raise money for the Cancer Council in memory of her late father.
Her father was diagnosed with lung cancer in July 2014 and passed away on 24 October 2014, and Ms Bass is walking to raise money on the first anniversary of his passing.
Ms Bass has worked for Yooralla Day Service in Ferntree Gully for nine years, caring for up to 20 adults, mostly with cerebral palsy.
Her clients at Yooralla have organised a chocolates in the jar guessing competition and have organised a barbecue to help raise money for the cause.
The Groovy Fruit Shop in Belgrave South also has a donation tin where members of the public donate money towards her efforts.
“I wanted to do something in memory of my dad,” she said.
“I thank all people and their families for caring so much and the staff and the manager, who has encouraged me.”
