EMERALD Secondary College is set to wow audiences with a stage performance of the 2001 smash hit film, Legally Blonde.
The story follows the very blonde Elle Woods as she takes the “dumb blonde” stereotype and, like, totally turns it upside down.
Elle Woods is a sorority president at UCLA, who majors in fashion merchandising and is in love with her boyfriend Warner Huntington the Third, who will attend Harvard Law School the following year.
She excitedly expects him to propose but instead he breaks up with her, telling her she is not ‘serious’ enough considering his plans for a career in politics.
Despite the break-up Elle is determined that Warner is her true love and decides to take the Law School Admissions Test. She is accepted into Harvard University and that’s when the fun begins.
The students at Emerald Secondary College have been rehearsing three days a week to bring this production to life; earning all the songs and dance moves that will totes make you love Elle.
Students in Year 11 and 12 theatre studies are responsible for applying a selected area of stagecraft including hair and make-up, sets and design, direction, costume and multi-media.
