UPWEY High School students are one step closer to having use of fantastic new facilities, with the appointment of an architect to start work on plans for a major upgrade. The work includes modernising school buildings, additional basketball courts and a new performing arts centre. The centre will be home for the Dandenong Ranges Music Council, while the courts will help local sports clubs. Monbulk MP James Merlino said it was an exciting time. “Appointing the architect is the first step towards delivering the modern, safe and stimulating facilities that staff and students at Upwey High School deserve,” he said.
