PAESANO Restaurant specialises in fine Italian cuisine, delivering good quality food at affordable prices.
The thriving restaurant was established in 2002 in the Knox Ozone centre and quickly became a regular meeting place for many people.
It is part of a family of restaurants that includes Michelangelo’s in Burwood and Ecco Qui in Frankston. The name Paesano means neighbourhood friend.
With a focus on home-style (casalinga) cooking and family-style casual dining, the restaurant’s signature gnocchi is made from a family recipe dating back more than a hundred years.
It features in four different meals on Paesano’s extensive menu, including gnocchi pollo funghi, which has a creamy chicken and mushroom sauce and is a “must have” for gnocchi fans.
With warmer weather just around the corner, fish dishes are very popular for a lighter style of eating and Paesano’s Fish of the Day features a range of the freshest fish brought in daily.
A recent innovation is the introduction of the stone grill, where meals are cooked and served on a heated stone (approx 400 degrees) at the table.
This exciting concept delivers healthy, flavoursome meat, chicken and fish with beautiful flavours and food aromas.
“High temperatures sear in all the natural juices and nutrients, giving a superior taste whether you prefer rare, medium or well done,” restaurant staff say.
“The result is a freshly grilled, tender and nutritious meal, with a sensational taste unique to Stonegrill.”
Dishes include tiger prawns and scallops served with avocado salad, and chicken with capsicum and potatoes.
Rounding out the stonegrill range are premium grain-fed eye fillet beef and Moreton Bay bugs (when available) served on the stone with avocado and tossed in olive oil and a balsamic glaze.
There are lots of new specials at Paesano, with an express lunch menu another popular innovation. Paesano also offers the option to pre-order meals so they can be ready and waiting on the table at a specified time.
Paesano Restaurant is located at Shop 2218 Town Walk, opposite the Village Cinemas in Knox Ozone, Wantirna.

Opening hours are 11.30am to 10.30pm Sunday to Thursday, and 11.30am to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
