Sod turned for pavilion

MONBULK MP James Merlino turned the first sod at the site of the new recreational and sporting facilities in Belgrave on Friday, 9 December.
The Yarra Ranges Shire and its citizens will benefit from $1 million in Victorian Government funding to help deliver the Belgrave South Community Sports Pavilion.
The project will provide a central place to hold meetings, events and social gatherings, as well as increase participation in local sport.
This is a community-driven project with eight member groups that represent more than 500 players, 310 students and 200 community house participants in Belgrave South. Pictured holding a shovel at the centre are Yarra Ranges Shire councillor Mike Clarke and Mr Merlino. 163295
