Swoop season

RESIDENTS are being urged to watch out for swooping birds.
With spring now in the air, the Department of Sustainability and Environment has warned people to be aware of native birds swooping to defend their nests.
DSE has called on people to be tolerant of magpies, butcherbirds and plovers that may swoop in parks, streets, on bike paths and school grounds.
Last year the department received more than 650 calls from July to December reporting swooping birds.
To find out more should log onto www.dse.vic.gov .au/swoop/ or call 136 186.
