MONBULK CRICKET
An exciting week ahead for the Monbulk Hawks, with the fourth XI playing in the grand final and the four competitive junior teams all playing in a semi-final.
The fourths reached the grand final after a nail-biting win, passing Olinda’s score in the second last over, nine wickets down.
Under 16 player Sage Farmer batted for 42 overs for a patient and match-winning innings.
Other youngsters Rab Noonan and Kenny Beecroft put on 13 exciting runs for the tenth wicket to see the Hawks into the grand final.
A great season by the Hawks fifth XI came to an end in their one-day semi-final against Knox City.
Congratulations to skipper Clayton Spooner and all the other boys on their efforts this season.
The Under 12s and Under 13s play their semi-finals on Thursday and Friday night this week.
The Under 12s play home at Silvan.
Both Under 16s play their semi-finals on Saturday and Sunday morning.
Under 16 Maroon will play at Monbulk main ground.
Good luck to the fourths in their grand final on Saturday and Sunday, and to all of the junior teams in their semi-finals.
