AFTER 21 years, Upwey will farewell its health food store when the doors close at the end of the month.
Upwey shopping area’s longest standing tenant, Naturopath and Upwey Health Food Store owner Birgit Pahl, is calling it a day and will move to the country to semi-retire when her health store closes on 30 September.
“After 21 years of doing this I am going to miss everything,” Ms Pahl said. “I have made so many friends over the years. I think that is what I will miss most.”
Birgit has often supplied products to her elderly and terminally ill patients while doing her rounds on her way home.
The 67-year-old said she had hoped someone would have bought the business and kept it going, but there had been no serious interest.
There is no word yet on what will replace the Upwey Health Food Store.
