Applied learning bright sparks honoured

Students from Ranges TEC in Lilydale received two VCAL awards for 2016.
Many of Victoria’s best and brightest students were recognised in the VCAL 2016 Achievement Awards that took place at the Deakin Edge, Federation Square, on Friday 26 May 2017.
The awards were the VCAL Partner Achievement Award – Workplace Learning and the VCAL Student Achievement Award – Intermediate VCAL Team Achievement.
A total of 20 VCAL achievement awards for 2016 were presented at the ceremony by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA).
Students and staff at Ranges TEC felt honoured to be recognised for these achievements. The first was the Partner Achievement with Tasty Az.
Throughout the year, they hosted some of our students on Structured Work Placement.
Dr Gerry Beimers from the school said: “Our Service Project students were also involved in landscaping and creating a community garden with them.”
“The second award was for our VCAL Hospitality team for their work with catering projects and the canteen business at Mount Evelyn Christian School. Ranges TEC thanks VCAA for the recognition and their commitment to applied learning in Victoria.”
