Memories to mark 100 years

TAKING a step back in time, St George’s Anglican Church is calling on hills people to dig up any memorabilia from yester year as it celebrates its centenary.
The churching is gearing up for the celebration of its centenary later this year, but first it needs help with a memorabilia exhibition.
Members are now calling for anyone with photographs or other items of interest to come forward.
Anything from baptism and wedding notices to tails of youth and women’s groups are welcome.
St George’s in the heart of Monbulk has a rich history, which all began in 1908.
The church was a welcome addition to the community, which survived for years with just a lay preacher.
Now 100 years on, the church is still going strong and getting ready to celebrate its centenary.
Archbishop Philip Freier will visit Monbulk in November to help mark this momentous occasion.
Anyone wanting to contribute to the memorabilia exhibition should contact Liz on 9756 7115.
