UPWEY’S Rob Ferguson is pulling out of the race for the council elections … but not officially.
Doctors have warned him not to run for election. But it’s too late for Mr Ferguson to officially pull out. He is now urging hills residents not to waste their votes on him.
Mr Ferguson nominated to run in the Shire of Yarra Ranges in the seat of Streeton. However, since then the Upwey-Belgrave RSL member has been advised not to continue the race.
“My doctor doesn’t want me to continue and I don’t think it’s a good idea to go against his wishes,” Mr Ferguson said.
