Homes get dust relief

MT EVELYN residents living in Bailey Road will soon see the road sealed with council approving its inclusion in the 200506 dust suppressant program.
This follows a petition that was submitted to the council on Monday, 13 June.
Director of environment and engineering Simon Thomas said the 200405 dust suppressant program was developed following an assessment of all the unsealed roads against the program’s criteria which was adopted in 2003.
Mr Thomas said Bailey Road had not been included in the program previously but that it was agreed during a midseason review in February to add selected roads to the program.
He said it was also decided that a review of the selection criteria and process was needed prior to the development of the 200506 program.
The council last week agreed to include Bailey Road in the forthcoming program which is set to commence in September this year.
