DEVONSHIRE teas, lunch, light meals and Sunday breakfast are more enjoyable when relaxing in the tranquil surrounds at Churinga Cafe/Restaurant at picturesque Mt Dandenong.
A big, all-day breakfast is available daily and something new is added to the menu each day for variety.
Fully licensed and set in beautiful gardens, Churinga is the perfect setting for weddings and private functions.
Special features in the gardens include some of William Rickett’s sculptures and daily bird feeding is another highlight for visitors.
Churinga proprietors Mark and Kerrie Filgate have been involved in the hospitality industry for many years.
They met when Mark was teaching hospitality at Box Hill TAFE and was also owner of a bar/cafe in the city, having previously managed many hotels.
Kerrie worked for Mark as the manager of his bar and the couple is now married.
Mark and Kerrie also own Monbulk Pizza, a popular take away in the heart of Monbulk.
“Using the freshest and best ingredients, we have a huge range of pastas which are also available at Churinga,” said Kerrie.
“Our lasagne is made from a traditional recipe and is a very well-liked dish at both places.
“We also enjoy supporting our local community.”
