School’s tempo to the beat

TEMPO Dance has been established since 1991 with studio principal Deb Stack teaching in the community for around 25 years.
Deb’s daughter Jaimee has studied dance full-time and is now integral to the running of the school.
“Dancing is a great way to develop self-confidence, body awareness, self-discipline, poise, rhythm and musicality,” Deb said.
“We teach jazz, tap, classical and hip-hop and funk for all ages from beginners to advanced.
“Ladies’ tap classes, pre-school classes and boys only classes are also offered.”
Tempo takes pride in the service offered by its eight fully trained and experienced teachers in a professional, caring, and fun environment.
The fully equipped studio with barres, mirrors, air-conditioning and heating has a parents’ waiting area.
A concert is held at the end of each year and examinations are held during the year for those who wish to participate.
Deb said Tempo students entered various competitions and achieved great results.
“We realise that each of our students is a special individual with specific needs and goals.
“We take pride in responsibly understanding these needs and channelling our efforts into matching these goals.
“We work hard to help our students develop a strong self-image and to teach them the importance of working as a team.
“Most of all, our classes are fun.
“The reward for us is to see our students having a great time learning and expressing themselves in a creative and positive manner.”
Tempo Dance classes are held at Factory 4/14 Edina Road, Ferntree Gully, each weekday and Saturdays.
