Drain claim goes to Ombudsman

AN Emerald mother has taken her driveway woes to the Ombudsman following months of council inaction.
Naomi Madson, is fed-up with the Cardinia Shire’s continued refusal to take responsibility.
She has been calling for action for months to fix the cross-over drain beneath her driveway which she claims the council damaged.
The Mail reported last month (9 June) in its page 3 story, Driveway Worry Drains Mother, that Ms Madson had been fighting for answers since September. A shire spokeswoman said it was willing to investigate the matter further if she had proof the damage was caused by the council. Ms Madson last week received confirmation that the matter was now being investigated by the Victorian Ombudsman’s office.
