MEGA Pet Warehouse is dedicated to responsible pet ownership.
That’s why it doesn’t sell pets in its stores and does what it can to assist local animal welfare organisations in the protection and treatment of stray and injured animals.
“If you are looking for a pet, we only recommend seeking out a reputable breeder or adopting one of the many thousands of animals available from shelters around the state,” said Frank Raso of Mega Pet Warehouse.
To show its support for responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, Mega Pet Warehouse joined thousands of others worldwide in celebrating World Animal Day on Sunday 4 October.
As part of the day, its four stores donated 10 per cent of the profit from all sales on the day to Animal Aid, an organisation the company has supported for a number of years, including during the aftermath of February’s bushfires in which Animal Aid played a pivotal role in caring for stray and injured animals from the fires.
The amount raised, approximately $1000, will go towards fulfilling one of Animal Aid’s wish list items.
“We’d like to thank all our customers who supported this cause by visiting one of our stores on the day,” said Frank.
“We are looking forward to working closely with Animal Aid in the coming months to support the tremendous work they do for animals in the local area.
