MORRISONS students are calling on the community to help them raise cash and awareness for cancer, mental health and animal welfare.
The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) class will host a charity dinner at Yarra Valley Vineyard in Lilydale from 7pm on 27 August for Animal Aid, Canteen and mental health organisation GROW.
They’ve spent the past five months organising the event and hope more than 200 people will help them raise a few thousand dollars.
The evening will include a three course meal, student drama performances, guest speakers, visual displays to promote the causes, student DJs and shuffling, and a free showbag.
Each cause is guaranteed at least 25 per cent of funds raised on the night and will lobby the audience for the final quarter.
Each diner will receive a ballot and vote for their favourite cause following guest speakers and displays from each organisation.
The night’s aim is to build students’ skills and show them they can make an effective contribution to the community by helping those in need.
Tickets are $35 and available by calling 9736 1457.
