Reconnect with the local community at the Kalorama Fun Day

On Sunday 6 November, Kalorama Mount Dandenong CFA fire brigade and The Kalorama Collective will be holding a community fun day for residents of all ages and abilities to reconnect with their community.

You can bring your own picnic to Kalorama Oval from 12pm to 4pm and join other locals in a soccer match, hose rolling competition or even a tug of war as part of the Kalorama Community Fun Day.

Some hot food will also be available.

Kalorama Collective treasurer Paige Kelsall said the Kalorama Mount Dandenong fire brigade wanted to participate in the event to spread awareness of their community fire guard group; a fire plan shared between neighbours which is activated in an emergency.

“They want to resurrect the community fire guard groups…so they can speak to people in Kalorama and Mount Dandenong about starting up these groups again, which is also good because it gets people talking to each other and knowing their neighbours,” Paige said.

Paige is hoping at least 200 people get involved in the Kalorama Community Fun Day.

Kalorama Oval is located at 1196 Mount Dandenong Tourist Road in Kalorama.
