EMERALD Hire was one of a number of premises in the hills area ram-raided in the early hours of Thursday 14 October.
Two Holden Commodores, both late 1980s models which police believe may have been involved, were found dumped after raids in Bayswater, Boronia, Woori Yallock and Emerald.
One of the vehicles was found burnt on Woori Yallock Road in Nangana, while the other was found torched on Launching Place Road in Gembrook.
Police believe thieves may be targeting late ’80s and early ’90s model Commodores and are urging local owners to make sure their cars are secured.
“The keyholes in the doors of these cars wear,” Emerald Leading Senior Constable Frank Bailey said.
“A key of the same model vehicle can easily open a door and then it doesn’t take much to start the car.”
Ldg Sen Const Bailey said police are wanting to speak to a number of people who they believe can help with their inquiries.
Anybody with information on the ramraids should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Emerald Police on 5868 4422.
