Survey to improve

By Casey Neill
HILLS public transport campaigners are urging residents to speak up for improved services through a new survey.
Since March, the Mount Evelyn-based group has been working on a statewide push for better bus, train and tram access – with help from Morrison House Community Centre.
They’ve contacted all neighbourhood houses across Victoria and released a bumper sticker reading Public Transport – Make it an Election Issue but have been disappointed with the response.
The group has now released a survey, which can be found below.
Organiser Trish Bellerby said they will collate data from the responses and send it to appropriate State Government departments following the 27 November election.
“We will only have significant data if we are given it by as many Victorians as possible,” she said.
“Democracy is by the people, of the people, for the people. Let’s make this campaign a democratic demonstration.”
Visit www.mt-evelyn.net and follow prompts to the transport section to find the survey online. Copies are also available at Mount Evelyn Library.
Return the survey to: Attention Trish, Morrison House Community Centre, Old Hereford Road, Mount Evelyn, 3796.
