A BERWICK man was caught speeding and driving while almost four times the legal drinking limit in Hallam last week.
About 1pm on Friday, police nabbed the 58- year-old driving a Toyota mini bus at speeds of up to 91km/h in an 80km/h zone on the Princes Highway.
The man recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.194.
He is expected to be charged on summons with exceeding the speed limit, exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol.
He also had his licence suspended immediately.
The detection was part of Operation Crossroads, which is a nationwide high-visibility road policing operation, and Operation Constant, which is a TAC-funded program targeting speed.
The operations aim to reduce road trauma over the high-risk Easter holiday period.
