Plant Expo at Sassafras

The Ferny Creek Horticultural Society (FCHS) is holding a Mini Plant Expo on Thursday 14 March.

The 18th Annual Plant Collector’s Expo was scheduled for 9 and 10 March but due to the extreme heat and fire danger on the weekend in the Dandenongs, the society cancelled the Plant Collectors’ Expo at FCHS, hence a ‘Mini Expo’ will instead be hosted.

Hear from Peter Donegan and Martin Semken, the gold medal winners from last year’s Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, who will be guest speakers at the event.

The special guest seminar “Designing for MIFGS – Applications for everyday gardeners” will begin at 7pm.

The FCHS Gardens can be found at 100 Hilton Rd Sassafras and the gate will open from 4pm.

The vendors attending so far includes, Tonkins Bulbs, selection of rarities from Andy’s Rare Plants, Fresbrook Peonies, Gilles Lardy, Horticolour botanic artist, Garden express and Urban Foliage, Hancocks Daffodils, FCHS Plant Stall, Alpine Garden Society Vic Group, and more.

This is a joint meeting with the Alpine Garden Society – Vic Group.

Members and non-members are all welcome, with a gold coin donation.

Zoom will be available, please email to secretary@fchs.org.au if you would like to attend via zoom.

Light supper will be served.

Participants will have the chance to win tickets to attend MIFGS 2024, donated by the Yarra Ranges Council ‘Healing in our gardens’.
