UPWEY Primary School students were given the double satisfaction of eating pancakes to benefit others last week.
Mothers from the Parents’ Association got together to lay on the Shrove Tuesday treats and raise money for Uniting Care.
Gold coin donations went towards helping the homeless, frail elderly people, people with disabilities, vulnerable children and families in crisis.
Mother Kelly O’Brien said it was a way to make money for a community service while giving the kids something to enjoy.
But the proof of the pudding was in the eating, and the verdict was delivered by seven-year-old Chadai.
“I think it’s fantastic and I just love pancakes,” she said.
