Shed load of shaving

By Emma Sun
YOUTH Enterprise Shed volunteer Logan Reidy will be doing a shave of a different sort for the World’s Greatest Shave.
The 25-year-old placement student from Scotland has offered his beard for the cause – a beard that has taken him half a year to grow.
Mr Reidy said he felt the urge to participate and support the community and its people, as well as those with leukaemia.
“It’s for a really good cause and I’d like to give the community the idea that young people aren’t always bad,” he said.
“This will encourage everyone to get involved and come to the shed.”
Youth Enterprise Shed co-ordinator Brad Colling said the shed is a great way for youths to get involved in the community.
“It’s a place they can go and do art and music and run their own enterprises such as the World’s Greatest Shave,” he said.
While Mr Reidy admitted losing his beard would be a pretty big change for him, he encouraged everyone to watch the event unfold on the day.
“I keep stroking my beard and I know that on the day, I’ll go to stroke it and think ‘oh no, what have I done?’,” he said.
“I hope people will come along, donate and support a worthwhile cause.”
Mr Reidy is hoping to raise about $500 and will be shaving on Friday 16 March from 3pm.
There will also be many other people colouring their hair for the cause.
Those who would like to donate can contact the Youth Enterprise Shed on yes@morrisons.org.au or 9736 3091.
