Bring out your treasures

By EMMA SUN
THE Mount Evelyn CFA is gearing up for its biggest fund-raiser of the year and is encouraging residents to “drag their treasures out” for the garage sale.
Firefighter Rob Sibbing said the brigade was looking for anything “re-saleable”, including white goods, tools, furniture, toys, bric-a-brac, books and plants.
However the brigade will not be accepting mattresses, clothing, shoes or box televisions.
“We’re hoping people will start doing their clean-ups and give us the stuff that might not be enough for their own garage sale,” he said.
“We encourage residents to donate and support a good cause, as the fire brigade is here for the community.”
The garage sale will be held on Saturday 13 October. Donations can be dropped off before then at the station on Sundays between 9am and 10.30am.
