THE Mount Evelyn Football Netball Club’s biggest fund-raiser for the year has raised a whopping $22,000.
The club more than doubled its auction profits from last year, which raised about $10,000.
A Chopper Read signed and framed print sold was the highest selling item, going for $810.
Popular items included two fishing trips, ‘Fishing with Mick’, which sold for $250 and ‘Fishing with Daniel’, which sold for $150.
A 1986 Age print of the Mount Evelyn premiership, framed by Art With Distinction, went for more than $400 and a weekend away and winery tour in a limo sold for $450.
Organiser Geoff Wighton said about 200 people attended the event, which went really smoothly.
“It was a really enjoyable night for everyone and those who didn’t buy anything got to enjoy the entertainment, provided by The Comedian and Shaun Black,” he said.
“It was a fantastic event and a huge success.
“A huge thankyou to Lisa Murphy, who did all our flyers, tickets and catalogues, to The Professionals for their work doing the auction and everyone who donated and bought items.”
The money raised will go towards lighting to allow the club to play night games.
