Ramble with Billy

ENJOYING the magic of Puffing Billy on weekends and public holidays from Gembrook to Emerald Lake Park is now possible as the railway introduces its new Gembrook Rambler service.
These trips will be available from April to June and will enable passengers to purchase a return trip from Gembrook to Emerald Lake Park or from Emerald Lake Park to Gembrook.
The Gembrook Rambler service will run on Saturday, Sundays and on pubic holidays.
People who want to check out the Gembrook Market can enjoy a trip on the Gembrook Rambler from April this year to February 2007, except for December 2006.
This service is a first for Puffing Billy allowing people from the Pakenham corridor and Gippsland to start and finish their journeys at Gembrook.
Puffing Billy has also introduced a special-priced family ticket for two adults and up to three children for only $49 compared to the normal fare of $62.
However, the family tickets must be pre-booked and pre-paid prior to travel.
The family ticket will enable families to drive to Gembrook and enjoy all that the town has to offer, from cafes and tea rooms to bush walks and time to enjoy the town’s old-fashioned Australian pub, before hopping on Puffing Billy for a trip to Emerald Lake Park.
Alternatively, passengers can drive to Emerald Lake Park for fun the whole family can enjoy by either enjoying a picnic or a barbecue before taking a trip to Gembrook for a stroll through its quaint country township.
The Gembrook Rambler offers a great day out for the whole family.
Special offers and discounts will also be available from selected businesses in the Gembrook township for all pre-booked passengers with a special discount card being mailed to those passengers who have booked.
Puffing Billy has suggested passengers book early to avoid disappointment by phone the Belgrave office of the railway on 9754 6800.
