Grave issue with light-hearted touch

THE Basin Theatre Group is getting ready to raise the curtain on its new production, The Cemetery Club.
Directed by Don Harrod, the play is a Jewish comedy written by Ivan Menchell.
The Cemetery Club is about three widows, Doris, Ida and Lucille, whose husbands died one after another in just a few years.
Meeting on a monthly basis to visit the graves, the trio start discussing their feelings about starting new relationships.
Doris is still devoted to her husband, Ida is ready to start afresh and move on, while Lucille is already playing the field.
Sam, a widower, begins to court Ida, to Lucille’s and Doris’s displeasure.
The Cemetery Club is a tender, poignant story which is an appealing, yet different, comedy that is entertaining for all ages, the group said.
The play starts on Thursday, 11 May and runs until Sunday, 4 June at The Basin Theatre Group in Doongalla Road.
Tickets are now on sale and cost $18, which includes a program, supper and parking. Call 5968 4731.
