Villages throughout the Dandenong Ranges will host a twilight shopping night on Friday 16 December from 5pm to 8pm, for a one-night-only Christmas trading event.

With shops in Sassafras, Olinda, Mt Dandenong and Kallista taking part in the shopping event organized by The Villages of Mount Dandenong, the event will also see door raffles, children’s activities and more on the night.

Organiser Ann-Maree Baker said previous years of the twilight trading have been a success.

“It’s been really positive. Everyone’s excited to get on board,” she said.

“I’ve had a business in Sassafras for eight years and we’ve done it every eight years so far.”

The door prize includes three $500 gift cards, while children can enjoy a treasure hunt and face painting as shoppers explore the townships throughout the Dandenong Ranges.

Ms Baker said for every $10 that customers spend in-store, they get an entry ticket into the raffle,” she said.

“The raffle would be drawn in the coming days afterwards.”

Participating shops and areas will be advertised on the Villages of Mount Dandenong Ranges website and social media.

“Get the Christmas shopping done without the crazy crowded shopping centres,” Ms Baker said.

“Shop local and it’ll be a great evening.”
