Cockatoo hits the tele

Cockatoo will feature on TV screens across Victoria this Sunday, when Postcards presenter Kris Smith explores the community.

Mr Smith will journey to the scenic town in the Dandenong Ranges to visit artisanal smallgoods maker Sándor Bende at Chieftains Smokehouse and chef Jung Eun Chae, who has food critics at her feet with her experimental Korean food haven Chae.

Ahead of the travel show episode which will air on Channel 9 at 5.30pm Sunday 4 June, the Gazette visited Chieftains Smokehouse to learn about the process of smoking, pickling and curing.
