Pet micro prices chipped

KNOX pet owners will have the opportunity to microchip their animals for a reduced rate of $20 at the Civic Centre atrium on Tuesday, 27 February.
Elke Tapley, Knox’s local laws coordinator, said that microchipping pet keeps them safe for life.
“A microchip will enable a run-away pet to be reunited with its owner if it is handed in to any Australian council, RSPCA, lost animal home or vet,” Ms Tapley said.
“The microchip stores the animals breed, sex, colour and owner’s contact details.”
The session, which will run from 4-7pm, will also be an opportunity for residents to register their pets and direct any questions to council officers.
As of May this year, all animals registered with council for the first time must be microchipped.
