Top action at King Club cup

KNOX Basketball is pleased to announce King Club – Health and Fitness as the major sponsor of the International Cup tournament to be played at Knox Converse Stadium from Saturday, 4 November to Monday, 6 November.
The King Club International Cup will be contested between men’s teams from Sri Lanka, Singapore, the Australian Institute of Sport, the Big V Youth Select and the Knox Ford Raiders.
With 2006 being the inaugural year of the event, it was announced that King Club is the naming rights sponsor in 2007, along with an option for a further year in 2008.
Knox Basketball’s marketing and communications manager, Justin Nelson, said he was delighted to have King Club involved in the tournament and is looking forward to a big weekend of basketball.
“King Club has been a major sponsor at Knox Basketball for many years and they quickly recognised the International Cup as being a prestigious event for the basketball fraternity and the local community,” said Nelson.
“With the Spring Racing Carnival taking centre stage, the first weekend in November is a great time for families and we hope plenty of basketball fans will join us for this exciting tournament.”
King Club’s Monique Robinson is equally excited about the event and is eager to promote basketball as a fun and enjoyable way to be active and keep fit.
“King Club has a strong link with basketball and the King Club International Cup is an ideal event for us to help promote. All five teams are keen to impress and that will make for a strong tournament,” says Robinson.
“The team at King Club is also looking forward to having the players from Singapore and Sri Lanka coming to the gym during their week-long visit and we encourage all supporters to come along and meet with them.”
The King Club International Cup will feature five games on Saturday, 4 November (from10am through to 10pm), five games on Sunday, 5 November (from 10am through to 10pm) and two finals on Monday, 6 November (6pm and 8pm).
