Under 16
AFTER a long season Gembrook-Cockatoo came up against Belgrave, and they were keen to finish off with a win so they could have a good run into the finals. The players were given a job to do, which they carried out to the letter and the results shone through.
Gembrook-Cockatoo 19.14.128 d Belgrave 6.5.41.
Best: H. Butterworth, H. Hiatt, M. Purdon.
Under 14: A top game of team football.
Gembrook-Cockatoo 23.10.148 d Belgrave 1.1.7.
Best: T. Bugg, M. Cooper, L. Turner, J. Hamilton, D. Volta.
Under 13: A wet and slow Emerald ground ensured a close contest of wet weather footy. Gembrook took the early lead and apart from an Emerald fightback in the third and last quarters, the game belonged to the Brookers, with Jacob Berry kicking the steadying goal.
Gembrook-Cockatoo 3.3.21 d Emerald 1.4.10.
Best: H. Pope, D. Welsh, B. Hamilton, A. Turner, C. Retzack.
Goals: J. Mawson 2.
Under 12: Gembrook-Cockatoo finished the year off really well, with 8 wins from the last 10 games. Unfortunately they just missed the finals.

Best: J. Dalgleish, T. Strathdee, C. Osmond, J. Blackhurst, L. Purdon.
Under 11: A game of two halves with Gembrook playing the first hard at the ball, held their position and manned up, and the scoreboard showed the results. But in the second the opposite applied, Gembrook-Cockatoo let Emerald dominate all over the ground and the result was there for them at the end.
Emerald 2.8.20 d Gembrook-Cockatoo 2.5.17.
Best: Z. Epstein, Z. Rozenboom, B. Porter.
Under 10: A tough game played in cold and wet conditions and both teams gave it everything they had. It was a close game where the smaller Brookers put the pressure on their taller opponents.
Best: L. O’Brien, B. Standeven, S. Holt, S. Hilder, A. Lawler-Lobato.
