OLINDA’S First XI has continued its outstanding season on day one of round 11, after it bowled out Kilsyth for 144.
In reply, the Bloods are 3/117. Adrian Willoughby (3/18 off 18 overs) and stand-in skipper Keir Leone (2/14) led the way with the ball.
With the bat, Adam Borg continued his top season notching up 39 not out, while Neil Jobson (24) and Dave Ruyter (22) were the next best.
The Bloods have seven wickets in hand and need just 28 runs for victory, when it resumes play on day two.
The Second XI finished its first day on a terrific note against Wonga Park, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing early on. Despite a second-wicket partnership of 71 from skipper Matt Burgan (37) and the talented youngster Cameron Eade (38), plus 26 from Paul Willoughby, the twos finished with 161. But Olinda quickly turned it around – courtesy of a stunning spell from Jamie Beattie (4/12) to have Wonga Park 5/54.
Olinda’s thirds have already claimed first innings points, after they skittled Scoresby/Ferndale for just 71 off 53 overs in a terrific display. Richie Arnott (2/6 off 11 overs), Paul Cornelius (2/5 off eight overs) and Luke Kane (2/9 off six overs) were the standouts with the ball. The red and white is 5/77 with Jake Murphy 31 not out.
In the Fourth XI, Olinda was bowled out for 154. Dave Meadows – playing his first senior match for the club – top scored with 44, while under-14 RDCA representative Patty Rosier made 42. In reply, North Ringwood is 0/84. After several outstanding performances in recent times, the fives were bowled out for 105 on day one, with Warranwood 3/60 at the close of play. Adam Gawronski top scored with 52, while Dylan Troutman has 1/2.
Olinda continues its great run
