PROFESSIONAL artist, Kevin Boucher is recommending that people “get in touch with their creative side and open up a whole new world” by taking art classes at his Mount Evelyn studio.
Established in 1985, Kevin Boucher’s School of Fine Art can bring out the budding artist in everyone from beginners to the more advanced.
Students between the ages of 18 and 80 are taught the techniques involved in creating something special in acrylic, pastel, oil or watercolour and also the fundamentals of design and drawing. Lessons include colour mixing, drawing, portrait painting, studio work and on-site work as well as how to work from photos, sell paintings and frame your new masterpiece.
Kevin commenced his professional painting career in 1970 and has seen many changes in the art world. He has travelled around Victoria, demonstrating techniques to various art societies and picked up many awards along the way. Kevin’s paintings have sold to large international companies, overseas embassies and galleries.
Combining teaching with his painting since starting classes has allowed Kevin to impart to his students a profound knowledge of the art world, accumulated over the years. Many people have passed through his studio since he started teaching and with Kevin’s encouragement, have gone on to sell their paintings at art shows, galleries and other outlets. Some students have gone on to teach art and open their own studios.
Courses run for eight weeks for a cost of only $160. Enrolments are welcome for the three hour classes which are available morning, afternoon and evening on Monday and Tuesday and in the morning on Thursday.
Kevin Boucher’s School of Fine Art is at 6 Renouf Court, Mount Evelyn. Phone 9736 2907.
