MONBULK Pony Club recently celebrated the opening of its new cross-country training course after years of planning and fundraising by the club.
The new cross-country training course was officially opened by Yolanda Slykerman, a former member and current chief instructor.
Ms Slykerman said she had been waiting 23 years for the opening of the course and it was fantastic to finally see the club’s plans come to fruition.
The course offers 15 challenge jumps, including a water jump sponsored by Bendigo Bank, and Monbulk Bowling Club and Murphy’s Mitre 10.
She said the junior committee also worked hard to fund the picture-frame jump.
Club project coordinator Debbie Robinson said she was delighted to see young riders excited and enthusiastic as they tackled the new course at the club’s February rally.
