Emerald struggles away

EMERALD Football Club played Warburton away in greasy and sloppy conditions.
With the return of some injured players, together with new players to the club, Emerald was able to field three full sides and have interchange on the bench.

@BT Sport Sub Mail:SENIORS

THE senior side struggled against a strong Warburton team.
Emerald had no answers to the strength of the centre and forward lines with the Warburton players being at least a head taller.
The players never stopped trying but were outclassed on the day by the ladder leaders.
Warburton 36.26.242 d Emerald 4.5.29. Best players: Josh Huisintveld, Cameron Williams, Damien Whyte, Blair Kuys and David Hill. Goals: Clinton Marsh 2.

@BT Sport Sub Mail:RESERVES

An inexperienced side took to the field, but the players tried their hardest and, like the seniors, were no match for a dedicated Warburton side that dominated the play from the first bounce of the ball.
Again the players continued to try hard all day without too much success.
Warburton 22.9.141 d Emerald 5.3.33. Best players: Bruce Whitehead, Brad Sands, Mitch Watton, David Watson and Mick Mott.

@BT Sport Sub Mail:UNDER 18

Emerald was slow to start blocks and played catch-up football for the first half.
The players tried hard but decisions and the bounce of the ball did not go their way.
The second half saw Emerald start to play team football and keep up with the Warburton team, however the lead in the first half was difficult to close.
Every player tried their hardest and never gave up as the scores in the second half showed.
Warburton 8.13.61 d Emerald 4.9.35. Best players: Steven Wright, Tom Williams, Michael Pepi and Kieren Toms. Goals: Jesse Mather 2.

@BT Sport Sub Mail:NETBALL

EMERALD played Warburton-Millgrove at Wesburn in wet, slippery conditions.
From the first centre pass Warburton took control of the match and at half-time was up by 11 goals.
Emerald showed positive play down the court and players started to use their voices, which seemed to encourage and keep each team member motivated for next week.
Congratulations to Gael Collins for her first game back this season after injury.
Warburton 30 d Emerald 10. Most valuable players: Elise Borg, Yolanda Cox. Goals: Bev White, Holly Kuys.
