EILDON Park topped its last game score of 9/327 compiling 9/341 against Upwey in Round 6 of the FTGDCA.
Shane Cosstick was once again the star making 134 to go with last game’s 103 not out. Also among the runs for the Panthers were Aaron Powell (53*), Mick Sinclair (42) and Josh Dowling (32). Dain Howe and Ryan Pitts will need to be at their punishing best for the Tigers to chase down this score.
St Johns Tecoma managed a disappointing 185 on the back of 109 by Danny Pearce in their game against Lysterfield at Lakesfield Reserve.
Although finishing at 3/35 will put a dampener on a good day for the Beavers, Buckinhgham and Dempsey were the best bowlers for the Beavers. Marc Hardy picked up the first 3 wickets before the close of play for the Saints.
The Basin has set Belgrave a target of 208. Adam Luckman was the leading run scorer for the Huntsmen and Bloomfield spinner Udara De Silva was the best for the Magpies with Nick Bole-Brown also taking 3 wickets.
The game was scheduled to be played at Belgrave but the early commencement of works at Belgrave has seen their games being moved to Batterham Park.
At Fairpark Reserve, Mountain Gate restricted Johnson Park to 166. Elliot Hind (38) and Dulip Samaraweera (47) were the only batsmen to get going for the Sharks while Dave Harris (5/35) was the star with the ball for the ‘Gators.
Ferntree Gully has posted 190 against Knoxfield at Carrington Park. Bowling honours for the Knights were shared by David Plumridge and Mitch Burley with the Blues best served by Mark Teofilo and Matt Black. Last year’s Feaver Medalist has had a lean year with the bat.
In the final game for the Knox Tavern Cup, Upper Ferntree Gully have 209 on the board against Rowville.
In the Decoite Shield, Knox Gardens set Upwey 295 and the Footballers made 278 against Lysterfield with Peter Tahin (91) becoming the leading run scorer.
The Basin bowled South Belgrave out for 214, Upper Ferntree Gully will chase Monbulk’s 232, Johnson Park compiled 249 against Auravale, and Knoxfield batted the day for 340 against Ferntree Gully.
