Shop’s stamp of approval

NO LONGER a place just to collect the mail, post offices today are thriving businesses.
As well as postal services, Olinda Post Office, owned and managed by Sadhna Burgess, provides banking services, office stationery, telephony products, greeting cards, gifts and Postbillpay facilities.
Customers can also buy and cash travellers’ cheques and foreign currency notes, and send and receive money internationally through Western Union Money Transfer.
“We process passport applications as well now,” said Sadhna.
“We offer the one-stop shop ability to do your banking, pay your bills and post your letters at the same time. A post office is not just about stamps any more.”
The Olinda Post Office has thrived in its new location and won the Licensed Post Office of the Year in 2005 in north eastern Victoria for excellence in customer service, store image and growth in sales.

Open Saturday mornings to cater for customers who cannot get to a post office during the week, Olinda Post Office is at 1532 Mt Dandenong Tourist Road, Olinda.
