Brookers must show teamwork

Under 16
Gembrook-Cockatoo 12.19.91 d Monbulk 4.2.26.
MONBULK started with only 16, but came out at Gembrook-Cockatoo like they had a full side. Gembrook-Cockatoo did have a full side plus a full bench of seven, which made the bench hard to manage. Game time and commitment depends on the effort to make it to training and commitment to teammates to make good numbers at training, to do the drills needed to work on to become a good team.
The year has started off well but over the last 2 to 3 weeks some have dropped off that commitment, only to let the team down.
Best: D. Cracknell, G. Herd, M. Koglin, M. Thompson, T. Johnston.

Gembrook-Cockatoo 22.24.156 d Monbulk 1.1.7.
THE game was played in very windy conditions. Although it was a very one-sided game the team never relaxed.
Best: C. Thoms, D. Volta, T. Bugg, B. Stephenson, M. Cooper.

Healesville 9.5.59 d Gembrook-Cockatoo 5.3.33.
HEALSVILLE got the jump on Gembrook in the 1st term and from then on Gembrook played ‘catch-up’ footy. To the Brookers credit they kept their heads up and kept working which resulted in a very tough entertaining last quarter, which the Brookers won.
Best: M. Dalgleish, C. Fraser, J. Mawson, D. Misso, D. Welsh.
Goals: D. Welsh 2.

South Belgrave 5.10.40 d Gembrook-Cockatoo 4.3.27.
THIS week Gembrook showed that they were able to play football. The only thing is that Gembrook-Cockatoo seemed to play as different teams in each half. In the first half they were slow to the ball and lacked confidence, but in the second half Gembrook played with heart and determination.

A TOUGH physical contest was played in very windy conditions, making scoring goals a tough ask. Both teams moved the ball well from end to end, though both teams needed to man up better. Gembrook-Cockatoo was down a little bit on form but never gave up pushing themselves. The 1st half was all Hawks, the 2nd half was all Brookers and provided a good spectacle for everyone, even with the strong wind.
