A ROUND of golf to enjoy was set up at Emerald Golf Club on Saturday.
The day dawned clear and crisp and Ian Scott, the resident humourist, claimed all his ducks were in a row and he was hot to trot.
Martin Yeats proved his diminishing handicap was not an impediment to him scoring well, romping in with a massive 42 points from his 12 handicap.
This gave him the A Grade win as well as bragging rights over the entire field.
Brett Isherwood, aided by his two nearest the pins, won B Grade with 33 points.
Ken Sumsion rolled on with his good form of late to take out C Grade with 36, easily eclipsing Scott’s 20 points.
Those who played well without troubling the judges were Ross Martin on 40 points, Alan Ecclestone with 37 and Mike Litchfield with 36.
Nearest the pins were won by Isherwood on the 13th and 17th, and Martin the 12th, and Stuart Courtney took out the pro pin lolly on the 18th.
Next week players vie for the first Monthly Medal after the solstice, so all stops will definitely be out.
Handicap no obstacle for Yeats
