Perry’s side seal win

TOP of the ladder Upwey-Tecoma last Saturday travelled away from home to defend that position against their main rivals Lilydale.
The feature of the day’s play was that of the Tom Perry skipped rink, which returned to form after a disappointing but narrow loss in the previous week.
With very close games being contested on the other three rinks, Perry and his team completely dominated proceedings to finish with a 22 shots up win and pave the way for another good win for Upwey-Tecoma.
Another pleasing aspect of the day’s play was the win by Andrew Walters and his team.
After some very close but losing games in previous weeks, this team showed tenacity by sticking to their game plan and finishing with a well-deserved 6 shots wins.
Robin Southern had the ‘nail biter’ with his team’s win decided on the last shot of the day.
After holding what seemed to be a commanding lead at the halfway mark, the Trevor Robertson skipped team suffered a surprise defeat, but with good wins to the other three rinks, Upwey-Tecoma were in no danger of defeat.
Scores: Upwey-Tecoma d Lilydale 98-76 (Tom Perry won 35-13, Andrew Walters won 25-19, Robin Southern won 23-21, Trevor Robertson lost 15-23).
