POLICE are calling for information after a 76-year-old woman witnessed a man acting inappropriately in Macclesfield.
Sergeant Neville Seamer from Emerald police said the woman was walking down Macclesfield Road on Saturday, 13 May at 12.15pm when she saw the man in the bushes.
Sgt Seamer said the man had wilfully and obscenely exposed himself to the woman, who ran to a nearby neighbour’s house and reported the incident to the police.
Sgt Seamer said the man was described as aged in his 20s, of medium build, and wearing a white T-shirt.
He said a charcoal-coloured early model Holden Commodore was parked nearby, and police suspected the man was not from the area.
“He probably wasn’t from around here,” Sgt Seamer said.
“He could have been passing through and saw the opportunity with the woman walking past and jumped into the bushes.”
Sgt Seamer said the police were investigating the issue and were asking anyone with any information to contact Emerald Police on 5968 4422.
