A FORMER senior employee of Knox City Council has been committed to stand trial in the County Court to face charges of defrauding the council of around $147,000.
Pauline Monica Myles, who served as the council’s marketing and communications manager between February 2001 and October 2004, elected to reserve her plea for the trial, the date of which is yet to be determined.
Ms Myles appeared at a committal hearing before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 25 July to face 207 charges including theft, false accounting, obtaining property by deception and furnishing false information.
Ms Myles initially appeared before magistrates in October 2005.
after an eight-month internal investigation mounted by the council’s internal auditor and Knox Police led to charges being laid.
