Hills in the hills

HILLS people are closer than they think to taking an adventure through the Himalayas.
A shop full of Tibetan art and handcrafts from the Himalayas will be set up at The Church in Kalorama on Sunday.
Visitors will be able to experience the sights, sounds and sensations of Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan at the travelling Sherpa Shop.
The shop, which is usually located in Frankston, will be open to Hills people in Kalorama on the first and third Sunday of every month.
All the goods in the Sherpa Shop are personally selected by shop owners Marilynne and Mingmar Sherpa when they visit the Himalayan region. People can also take a look at what the Himalayas are like by looking at the Sherpas’ range of documentaries.
One of the special features of the shop is the Tibetan singing bowls which are used for meditation and healing. They are sold with notes relating to their origin.
The Sherpa Shop will be at The Church, 6 Ridge Road in Kalorama from 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
For more information about the shop call 9781 1280.
