A WELL-KNOWN choral music specialist has joined the team at the Dandenong Ranges Music Council.
Sharon Batterham, from Kilsyth, has taken over the role of arts worker at the council and will assist community music co-ordinator Bev McAllister with the planning of music projects.
As well as working with the council, Ms Batterham conducts the National Children’s Choir and Youth Chorale of Australia.
And she volunteered for the Commonwealth Games this year as a stage manager for the open and closing ceremonies.
Ms Batterham said that as DRMC arts worker she would apply for funding for the council as well as instigate projects with artists in the Dandenong Ranges.
She is looking forward to talking with the local communities and sharing ideas for projects the council may look at next year.
In fine voice for ranges music
