Road upgrade help for chook farmers

SILVAN residents are set to see the benefits of a $100,000 road improvement that will provide safer access for semi trailers accessing local chicken farms.
Work is underway in Holden Road, Silvan, to improve safety for drivers and residents by widening and reshaping the road.
“As many as 50 semi trailers use Holden Road each day to access the chicken farms, which are a major contributor to the local economy,” Shire of Yarra Ranges councillor Graham Warren said.
“The road improvements will provide safer and more accessible access to the chicken farms which is good for the local economy and gives safer access for local residents and visitors to the area.” The project is due to be completed later this year.
