Adam bags a century

ADAM Borg hit his maiden ton for Olinda, making 110 runs on the first day of the two-day match against Croydon Ranges at Kalorama.
Borg’s effort and a win from the fifth XI were among the highlights for Olinda, as the round kick-started.
In the first XI, the undefeated Olinda bowled Wonga Park out for 249.
Left-arm quick Adrian Willoughby was Olinda’s best bowler, taking 3/44.
Peter Manaert and skipper Gavin Maslen chipped in with two wickets each, while Adam Humphries bowled economically.
With Maslen (averaging 117) and Ranga Yasalal (107) at this stage of the season, the first XI is well placed to continue its outstanding start to the 2005/06 season, when it returns to Wonga Park next weekend.
But it was Borg’s triple-figure score that was the highlight of the day in the seconds. He put on a 135-partnership with captain Matt Burgan.
On the back of 82 against East Ringwood last round, Dave Ruyter added 34 to his name this week to continue his fine form.
The second XI was bowled out in the second last over of the day, finishing with a total of 243 – its best score of the season.
Wantirna South compiled 9/171 against Olinda’s thirds.
Ryan Sykes (2/27) and Luke Kane (2/29) were the pick of the red and white’s bowlers.
The fours had Kilsyth 7/252 at the end of the first day, with Luke Beattie (2/42) and Matt Moss (2/30) the best for the Bloods.
Croydon North was rolled for 85 as the fifth XI smashed 3/132.
Youngster Dom Woodfield took 4/27, while Kevin Brickley claimed 3/18 and Brin Owen finished with 2/21.
Veteran Craig Jennings (65) and Glenn Taylor (53) starred with the bat.
