A FERNTREE Gully primary student has been passed a present for her vision of the future.
Kauri from Kent Park Primary School has won Knox City Council’s Vision 2025 drawing competition.
She was one of 400 children across the municipality to enter the competition which asked children to depict what they loved most about living in Knox.
Themes of pictures included the natural environment, parks and reserves, shopping centres, sports facilities and family life.
Grade five student Kauri was chosen as the winner for her illustration of the natural environment.
Knox mayor David Cooper presented Kauri with a certificate and $50 gift voucher donated by One Stop Art Supplies.
“It’s encouraging to see the younger members of our community reflecting on our natural surrounds and thinking about what Knox will be like in 20 years,” Cr Cooper said.
