Olinda’s First and Second XI on top spot

FOUR of Olinda’s five senior teams will feature in the 2005/06 Ringwood District Cricket Association finals series, after the final round of the home and away season concluded on Saturday with a one-day fixture.
And the great news for Olinda is that its top two teams, the First and Second XI, have finished on top of the ladder in their respective grades.
The Third and Fifth XI both finished in third position on the ladder.
Olinda’s dominant First XI just lost one match during the home and away season. They rounded off the minor premiership with an outstanding win over Scoresby/Ferndale.
The Bloods made 5/160 before they rolled Scoresby/Ferndale for 112.
Andy Greenall top scored with 36, while Adrian Willoughby scored 33 not out and Adam Borg 26 were also among the runs.
The key wickettakers were Keir Leone 3/18 and Jamie Beattie 2/14.
The Second XI won a tightly-fought contest against Warranwood by seven runs.
Batting first, Olinda was 9/162 after its allotted 35 overs, with Craig Elliott shining with 52 and Scott Tonkin making 47.
In reply, Warranwood was 8/155 at the close of play. Blake Swanson (3/17) and Dave Ruyter (2/30) were the pick of the bowlers, as the seconds moved back into top place entering the finals.
The thirds lost to Bayswater Park. Olinda made 122, while its opponents scored 144.
Tyson Heinrich was again among the runs, notching up 42, while Dean McCashney also made 33. Richie Arnott captured 3/29.
The Fourth XI had a disappointing end to its season, making 51 against Norwood. Rod Bartlett top scored with 21, as Norwood made 176.
The fives skittled Ainslie Park for just 74, as Olinda notched up 8/202. Kevin Brickley snagged 4/18, Ben Zammit finished with 2/16 and Brin Owen took 2/4.
Dylan Troutman top scored with 46.
